KTM: Colourful Validation

Just a couple of weeks ago I wrote an article about Colourful Tables in KTM validation. Then it hit me: why restrict that to tables? Kofax allows us to have colours in tables, labels and field labels (unfortunately, the won’t let us colour fields). Why would you want to do that? Well, here are some possible use cases:

  • Depending on the confidence, colour the label (green = high confidence, yellow = moderate, red = low)
  • Highlight negative and positive amounts in table cells (blue = cold and negative, orange = warm and positive)
  • With databases, indicate which fields were found on the document, and which came from the record

As colours can be a powerful tool to indicate something to the human being right away, you should give it a try. Here’s a fancy screen shot of my colourful validation. If you don’t know how, just head over to Colourful Tables for some scripting magic.
